Obama’s dangling the “crude” carrot in front of Republicans

Obama’s dangling the “crude” carrot in front of Republicans.

Crude Oil, that’s kind of the topic here today. And I have to admit that I’m all over the place on this post, think of this one as a thought process that hasn’t been fully processed.

In a Reuter’s report the Obama administration is said to be willing to engage in talks in order to open the Atlantic Coast off of Virginia for offshore drilling. My question to the GOP is, are you really going to fall for this administrations tricks? This is nothing more the a rouse.  Obama will stop at nothing in his quest for more power, and this includes giving up a little oil off the cost, to get his Cap and Trade Bill passed.

This is where you might start seeing some spineless republicans jump ship and side with the progressives. Obama is hoping that some of the GOP can be bought off by dangling oil in front of them. And it’ll work. Greed and envy are the roots to all evil.

This move can lift the stale mate on the so called Climate Change bill in the Senate. I’m calling it right now, with the guise of bi-partisanship, the Cap and Tax, job killing, socialization of America’s energy sector bill will pass. And Obama will be hailed as a hero, this time.

Obama is using oil companies, which he vilified throughout the presidential race, to try to vilify the coal companies. I’m sure this will change in a few months. Again let me reiterate that this is a rouse in his endless quest to gain power. But don’t think that he’ll let ConocoPhillips, Shell, BP or Chevron in to drill, it’ll probably be some random company like Petrobas. Petrobas is owned in part by George Soros. And you know that where there’s Obama, you only have to make a few connections to Soros. (See source here)

Maybe this is a little conspiratorial, and a little cart before the horse, but I don’t think I’m too far off on these predictions here.

There is one other thing to consider. With the escalation of America and France’s push for sanctions on Iran, we could see an oil price spike. It could be a welcomed turn of events to see oil being drilled for off our coasts. But not at the price of cap and trade being passed mind you.

One more prediction. We’re going to be pulled into another war, you know the progressives are so good at getting us into. Just read up on Woodrow Wilson and his involvement with The Great War. And they have the best Scapegoat the GOP and Bush.

Okay that’s my crazy loony post for the week.

They’re planning the next step already: After Health Care: Climate & Energy Legislation

The Fundamental Transformation is going on strong and the next steps are underway. With only a few days left to the potential take over of our educational and heath care systems, we start to see glimpses of the next steps from the progressive front.

From The Huffington Post Donnie Fowler posted this article today March 19th 2010:

“The cap-and-trade bills in the House and Senate are dead.” Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) reflected the reality that Congress now faces as it negotiates a comprehensive climate and energy package that might get voted on before this November’s congressional elections. One alternative to cap-and-trade has been a cap-and-dividend bill sponsored by Senators Maria Cantwell (D-Washington) and Susan Collins (R-Maine). The leading solution, though, appears to be coming from a bipartisan group of senators led by John Kerry (D-Massachusetts), Joe Lieberman (I-Connecticut), and Graham that would put a price on carbon emissions that targets only the electric utility, transportation, and industrial sectors of the economy.

The Senate is where the current debate lies because the House of Representatives already passed its bill in June 2009 (the “ACES Act” or the “Markey-Waxman” bill). The Kerry-Graham-Lieberman climate bill will join an energy bill written by Sen. Jeff Bingaman last Fall as the main vehicle for a new national policy. The House of Representatives must then decide what to do about its own bill and the Senate’s before President Obama signs anything into law. “It will be a very different mix of a bill from where we were at the end of the House effort,” Kerry said. “It will be simpler, and hopefully, capable of attracting support.”

Make no mistake about the post-health care debate. The oil companies, right-wingers, and climate change deniers will attack anything — absolutely anything — that arises in Congress as a threat to the economy. So now is the time to begin arming yourselves for a fight to create a brand new economy in our country (and catch up with the Europeans and the Chinese), to get ourselves out from under the thumbs of the oil dictators overseas, and to create jobs to go with the newly turned-around economy.

Artists Rendering of Proposed Datacenter in Oregon for Facebook

Those are the words of yet another idiotic mindless drone of the environmental loonies.   Tara Lohan, lefty blogger, posted an article on Change.org last week that vilifies internet giant, Facebook, for not living up to her standards. Somehow, Facebook should decide to move their company’s data center to the bidding of environmental whack jobs, and if they don’t then they’re evil and therefore in bed with the nasty republican earth murderers.

The reality is that Facebook seemingly made the good, prudent and resourceful decision,  which is best for their bottom line. By moving to their planned location they’ll save at least $2,600,000.00 a year in taxes. (link) Although the datacenter will benefit from some hydro-base power, the majority of their electricity may be pulled from a coal based source in Idaho.

Lohan’s article came a few days prior to BBC’s Q&A with Phil Jones. Which is incredibly ironic, since so many of the current environmentalist’s arguments, including Lohan, for the earths demise is based on “Global Warming” or “Climate Change.” Jones, summarized, admits that global warming is not all it’s cracked up to be. He sites volcanic and solar influences as being the major warming catalysts.

Jones even admits that this warming trend is nothing more than a series of trends, and that there’s nothing unsusal with this global warming period. From the BBC Article:

A – Do you agree that according to the global temperature record used by the IPCC, the rates of global warming from 1860-1880, 1910-1940 and 1975-1998 were identical?

An initial point to make is that in the responses to these questions I’ve assumed that when you talk about the global temperature record, you mean the record that combines the estimates from land regions with those from the marine regions of the world. CRU produces the land component, with the Met Office Hadley Centre producing the marine component.

Temperature data for the period 1860-1880 are more uncertain, because of sparser coverage, than for later periods in the 20th Century. The 1860-1880 period is also only 21 years in length. As for the two periods 1910-40 and 1975-1998 the warming rates are not statistically significantly different (see numbers below).

I have also included the trend over the period 1975 to 2009, which has a very similar trend to the period 1975-1998.

So, in answer to the question, the warming rates for all 4 periods are similar and not statistically significantly different from each other.

Here are the trends and significances for each period:

Period Length Trend
(Degrees C per decade)
Significance
1860-1880 21 0.163 Yes
1910-1940 31 0.15 Yes
1975-1998 24 0.166 Yes
1975-2009 35 0.161 Yes

He goes on to say,

N – When scientists say “the debate on climate change is over”, what exactly do they mean – and what don’t they mean?

It would be supposition on my behalf to know whether all scientists who say the debate is over are saying that for the same reason. I don’t believe the vast majority of climate scientists think this. This is not my view. There is still much that needs to be undertaken to reduce uncertainties, not just for the future, but for the instrumental (and especially the palaeoclimatic) past as well.

So really there is no consensus. There are too many variables out there that still need to be studied, and there’s no way an honest scientist can say there is man-made global warming, or that CO2 is the culprit. Any claim that Facebook is evil or wrong for utilizing coal based energy has a separate agenda or is truly an idiot. And the feeble attempts to put a halt to Facebook’s move is foolish.

Tara Lohan and here leftist agenda does nothing more than propagate a liberal agenda that has too many holes in it. The Huffington Post contributor and Alternet editor wants nothing more than us to never eat meat, make love to the earth and be controlled by a progressive government that dictates how we all live. In my opinion anyone that wants their progressive agenda passed at everybody’s expense, as Lohan does, is toxic and people should take caution when reading her hate filled rhetoric.
