Am I going to be on the Rightwing Extremist Activity Watchlist?

There’s a story today in the Washinton Times that outlines a memo, titled “Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling

brew

Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment,” was sent to Law Enforcement agencies across the country. The report to the agencies outlines and warns of “right-wing extremist activity.” It suggests that groups such as Militias, White Supremacist, Aryan Nations, KKK, National Socialist Movement (how they consider the Neo-Nazi’s Right-wing I’m not sure) and others are potential threats to our nation. Many are angry that we have a black president, and others are clinging to their guns.

Now many reports come out like this. In fact while I was still a Police Officer, I read many reports similar to this that highlighted potential threats from all sorts of groups Left and Right. It’s really not out of the ordinary, but I think the timing of the report is suspect to me. Only a few days before the perceived “Right-wing” sets out to protest an over expanding government and an oppressive tax code, seems a little… political to me. I do worry that I will be pegged as an extremist by the Federal Government. This report seems to be focusing on issues that the right, or conservatives take issue with.

Washington Times: Federal agency warns of radicals on right, By  (Contact) and  (Contact) | Tuesday, April 14, 2009

A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines “right-wing extremism in the United States” as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority…

…The report stated “It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration” …

ff2…The White House has distanced itself from the analysis. When asked for comment on its contents, White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said, “The President is focused not on politics but rather taking the steps

necessary to protect all Americans from the threat of violence and terrorism regardless of its origins. He also believes those who serve represent the best of this country, and he will continue to ensure that our veterans receive the respect and benefits they have earned….”

….The report, which was first disclosed to the public by nationally syndicated radio host Roger Hedgecock, makes clear that the Homeland Security Department does not have “specific information that domestic right-wing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence.”It warns that fringe organizations are gaining recruits, but it provides no numbers…

So as I go Downtown Denver tomorrow to protest some of these exact issues outlined in the report am I going to on the watch list. Because I have dissension for most of the stuff that the Progressive Socialist movement is doing right now, am I considered to be a Right-wing Extremist?

Politicians get it right! Texas Government Backs Resolution Affirming Sovereignty Under The 10 Amendment

Source: The Drudge Report

Read the Texas resolution here: http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/tlodocs/81R/billtext/html/HC00050I.htm

“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Gov. Perry said. “That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union.”

Perry continued: “Millions of Texans are tired of Washington, DC trying to come down here to tell us how to run Texas.”

A number of recent federal proposals are not within the scope of the federal government’s constitutionally designated powers and impede the states’ right to govern themselves. HCR 50 affirms that Texas claims sovereignty under the 10th Amendment over all powers not otherwise granted to the federal government.

It also designates that all compulsory federal legislation that requires states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties, or that requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding, be prohibited or repealed.
